A skin biopsy is a medical procedure in which a small sample of skin is removed for examination under a microscope. It helps diagnose skin conditions and diseases, including:
Skin infections
Inflammatory skin disorders (like eczema or psoriasis)
The sample is sent to a pathology lab. Results help doctors confirm the diagnosis and plan appropriate treatment. Minor discomfort or scarring may occur at the biopsy site.
Types of Skin Biopsy
🔹 Fine lines & wrinkles (especially around the eyes & mouth) 🔹 Acne scars & other facial scars 🔹 Uneven skin tone or texture 🔹 Sun-damaged skin 🔹 Age spots, freckles & hyperpigmentation 🔹 Enlarged pores 🔹 Stretch marks (in some cases)
